Google apologizes after racist Maps searches direct users to the White House

Google apologized on Tuesday after a Washington Post reader discovered that typing "n****r house" in the global view of Google Maps returned results for the White House. If users search for "n****r king" in the Washington, D.C. view, Google Maps zooms in on the same location in what appears a racial slur directed at President Barack Obama.

The company issued a statement on Tuesday, apologizing for any offense the results may have caused, saying the company is "working to fix this issue quickly."
